1) What is SO-NET WiFi (UNINET)?
SO-NET WiFi (UNINET) is a fixed fiber-optic internet service using the NTT fiber network in Japan.
It provides a stable, high-speed connection suitable for working, studying, streaming, and daily use.
UNINET supports customers throughout the entire process, especially foreign residents in Japan.

2) Registration & Installation Process (Step by Step)
- Step 1 – Send your address
📍 Share your full address, 📌 Google Maps link, or 📸 a photo of the address so we can check installation availability. - Step 2 – Plan confirmation & consultation
UNINET will confirm the available plan, monthly fee, and applicable promotions clearly. - Step 3 – Submit required documents
You provide the documents, and UNINET will handle the application and submission. - Step 4 – Carrier confirmation & installation schedule
SO-NET/NTT will contact you to confirm the installation date and time (usually 2–3 weeks). - Step 5 – Installation at your home
The technician installs the modem and line, checks the connection, and explains how to use it. Ready to use the same day ✅
3) SO-NET WiFi Monthly Fee

¥1,800/month × 6 months
(instead of the regular ¥5,995/month)

📡 WiFi Router Fee
- Free to use for the first 2 months
- From month 3: ¥660/month
- Or buy the router outright: ¥4,000 (one-time payment, lifetime use, no monthly fee)

- 📅 Months 7–12: ¥4,488 / month
- 📅 From month 13 onward:

4) Installation Fee & Contract
⏱ Estimated installation time: 2–3 weeks
🛠 Installation fee: ¥1,210/month × 24 months
(Already included in the monthly fee above. If you use the service for the full 24 months, the installation fee is considered FREE.)
📑 Contract term: 2 years
⚠️ Early cancellation fee:
If you cancel before 2 years, the fee will be calculated as:
👉 ¥1,210 × remaining months + 1 month of service fee
🏠 Moving:
If you plan to move, please inform us at least 2 weeks in advance so we can assist with the address change and necessary procedures.
5) What do you need to apply?

6) Temporary WiFi (While Waiting for Installation)
If you need internet while waiting for the fiber installation, we can provide a temporary WiFi device.
📶 Temporary WiFi Charges:
- 1 month rental fee: ¥3,800
- Initial fee: ¥5,800
- Refund after return: ¥2,000
- Shipping fee: ¥200 – ¥800 (Cash on Delivery – Daibiki)
This temporary WiFi helps you stay connected until the fixed SO-NET WiFi is fully installed.
